After reading Gayle Forman's short story in My True Love Gave to Me, I've been itching to read anything and everything else she's written. I have no doubt that I Was Here will bring about one big emotional heartache, but I'd read anything Gayle writes.Cody and Meg were inseparable. Two peas in a pod. Until ... they weren’t anymore.
When her best friend Meg drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, who broke Meg’s heart. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question.
Have you read anything by Gayle Forman? What are you waiting on this Wednesday?
Okay, I have to ask...How do you make such pretty things!?!? Do you use Photoshop? InDesign?
ReplyDeleteThis is on my most anticipating 2015 release, although I'm still ify about that cover. The gap between her name drives me insane!!
My WoW
I read her If I Stay duology and really loved it, and her writing style, so I think I'm really going to enjoy this new book/story. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW: Zodiac
I've read If I Stay twice and liked it okay but I REALLY loved Where She Went. Especially the audiobook. I haven't read the other books even though my friends say they're pretty sure they're "Asheley" books - I need to! Loved her story in the My True Love Gave To Me anthology - it was one of my favorites in there. (:
ReplyDeleteI love Gayle Forman! It feels like I've been waiting on this book forever!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huuuuge Gayle Forman fan. I've loved all her books before and I Was Here was no exception. I'm so glad to hear you're excited for it! :D
ReplyDeleteI loooooove your graphic!! It's so pretty!! I'm too lazy to do anything like that weekly, though. :) I am really excited for this one, too! I liked If I Stay and Where She Went a lot, so more please!
ReplyDeleteHi Patty! Thank you! I use Photoshop, but I'm sure InDesign could work as well :) I feel you on the name thing, I wish the "New York Times bestselling author" part was either above or below her full name :p
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kerry! I didn't like If I Stay as much as I liked Where She Went, but yes, I love Gayle as a writer (and as a person!) :) Did you end up reading Zodiac?
ReplyDeleteHi Asheley, I feel the same way as you about If I Stay/Where She Went! I hope you read Just One Day and love it :)
ReplyDeleteHi Katie! It'll be here soon, yay! :)
ReplyDeleteHAZEL, I am so jealous that you were able to read it early! Looking forward to reading your review and seeing more in details what you think!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rachel!!! (I'm too lazy to do anything like this weekly too, which is why it's been a month since I've done one :p)
